Huri chutney : Green chutney : Gluten free dip
If you have had any Indian snacks, you know it always comes with a couple of dips. The two most common ones are the green chutney and the sweet chutney.
The green chutney as the colour suggests, has Cilantro and mint leaves as the two main ingredient. As for the other ingredients it varies from family to family or even from place to place.
I have adapted this recipe from Sanjeev Kapoor’s Khazana.
Recipe: Made about 2 cups.
Cilantro 1 cup
Mint leaves 1/2 cup
Ginger 1/2 inch piece
Garlic cloves 3 – 4
Lemon juice 1 Tbsp
Salt to taste
Green chilli 2 ( optional )
Cumin seeds 1 tsp
Roasted Bengal gram 1 Tbsp
Wash the leaves thoroughly. Put all the ingredients in a blender. Pulse till a smooth paste. A little bit of water can be added if needed. Add the lemon juice next, check the taste and tweak it to your liking.
It can be stored in the fridge for about a week.
